France is hosting The Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris from 30 November to 11 December 2015 (COP21/CMP11). This is a crucial event, since it will most likely lead to a new international agreement on climate aimed at maintaining global warming under 2°C.
In this framework, and with the support and presence of French President François Hollande, the Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur region held a meeting for Mediterranean actors at La Villa Méditerranée in Marseille on 4 and 5 June, 2015.
This event underscored the shared commitment to adapting to and reducing climate change and highlighting the contribution of governments, local authorities, associations, businesses and networks working to promote sustainable development.
By setting itself the goal of contributing to the construction of a true positive agenda for the Mediterranean, this event also aimed to identify the constraints and opportunities offered by efforts to reduce climate change and to contribute, through shared concrete proposals, to projects in the Mediterranean.
