The NERC’s Energy Globe Award has been awarded to a project to install water pumps in the Jordan Valley (214 pumps) and the Highlands (106 pumps in Azraq, Mafraq and Madaba). Set up in partnership with the NERC and the Jordanian Ministry of the Environment, and financed by the EU, the project involved replacing inefficient electric and diesel irrigation pumps with pumps powered by solar energy.
