On 6th June 2018, MEDENER in cooperation with the EU GCC Clean Technology Network organised a policy session on the “EU opportunities for the Energy Transition in the Mediterranean and the GCC Regions”, held at the Residence Palace in Brussels, Belgium. The event took place in the framework of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2018, which is the most important European conference dedicated to sustainable energy policy issues.
The policy session reflected the ambitions of the European Union to promote energy efficiency and boost the use of renewable energy, by contributing to strengthen energy relations with the Mediterranean and GCC regions and to support the leading role of the EU in the energy field. The event saw the active participation of the audience, which created further elements of debate by interacting vividly with the experts, who intervened presenting the leading policies, technologies and best practices aimed at unlocking the energy potential in the Mediterranean and the Gulf regions. The discussion focused also on the EU opportunities in emerging markets and on innovation policies to foster a clean energy transition in the regions at stake.
